Bankinter organizes the 9th edition of the Transformation Awards towards a Sustainable Economy

Introducing the  Transformation Towards a Sustainable Economy Awards

In today's competitive context, the great challenge for organizations is to maintain a constant spirit of innovation, both in products and processes , without forgetting their sensitivity to the changes that occur around them. However , they must not only maintain fluid communication with clients and suppliers, but also with the rest of the groups with which they interact (administrations, employees, NGOs and social networks), which can be a source of ideas to guide their innovation.

The awards are intended to reward an initiative from a company or organization, developed and implemented in Spain , that is moving towards a Sustainable Economy . They must be framed within a transition plan that reviews some of the company's activities or the services of the public institution or non-profit organization, both in the dimension of reducing its adverse climate impact, and in the dimension of improving social well-being .

Objective of the Expansion Awards

The aim of these awards is to recognise the social and/or environmental innovation of organisations in their process of integration into a more sustainable society. Candidate projects must have an impact in Spain and their initiatives must be framed within a Transition Plan that reviews some of the company's activities, the services of the public institution or the non-profit organisation, both in terms of reducing their adverse climate impact and in terms of improving social well-being.

Categories of the Transformation towards a Sustainable Economy Awards

The awards are divided into three categories:

Three awards will be given in this category:

  • Better Transition Plan to achieve the “Net Zero” goal before 2050.

  • Best initiative to increase the efficiency of the circular economy.

  • Best initiative aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in the workforce.

Organizations eligible for this category will be those that, individually or as part of a group, exceed 250 employees or have annual revenues of more than 50 million euros.

Three awards will be given in this category.

Organizations that are eligible for this category are: the General State Administration, Autonomous Communities and Local Entities; public business entities (public companies dependent on the State, Autonomous Communities or City Councils), public educational entities (Universities and Business Schools). Non- profit entities , such as Foundations, NGOs and associations, will also be included in this category.

Sustainable Entrepreneur

There will only be one award in this category:

  • Best business initiative with impact oriented towards sustainable development goals.

Initiatives that follow one of the three variants of the Large Company category may be submitted, with the requirement that the measurement of their impact is related to their immediate environment.

Organizations with fewer than 250 employees and an annual income of less than 50 million euros will be considered eligible for this category. This category will include SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
