A little advice before starting your personal project
“The company must solve an existing need or problem in a different way. In short, innovate. If you want to do something new, you must dare to go against the flow. Everything else has already been invented.” These are the words of Juan Roig, founder of Mercadona and Lanzadera, its business accelerator. In this interview you will find more of his good advice, take a look and do a self-examination before taking the plunge.
Inspiring ideas for entrepreneurship
It's not about telling you what to do (you have to choose the path yourself) because there are a thousand and one ideas (from cake decorator to personal shopper to app developer). The point is to offer you advice to motivate you to undertake your personal life project:
- What are you good at? What sparks your passion and creativity? Answer those questions and continue. Develop a personal project doing what you would like to be hired to do… or start your own business.
- Is your idea something that people want or need? If the answer is yes, get out a pen and paper and write a solid business plan. You will also need it to present your idea to potential investors. Share your idea with friends and family, they will be the most honest with you.
- Evaluate the potential market, estimate costs and look for financing (family, friends... or your bank !). Here you can go a little deeper when setting up your first business .
- Always provide impeccable customer service and communicate your project to make it known (set up your website, social networks, your communication and marketing plan).
- If you start something just thinking about making a killing... forget it! Failure is guaranteed .
